Update from the authors: The X-Repair device (Synthasome, Inc., San Diego, California) has been cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for use in general surgical procedures for the reinforcement of soft tissue where it is weak, including the reinforcement of rotator cuff, patellar, Achilles, biceps, or quadriceps tendon repairs.
