Ever since I heard rumors that Dr. Dorfman was writing a textbook on bone tumors, I have been eagerly awaiting its publication. The wait has been worthwhile. This book, coauthored by Dr. Czerniak, is a real gem for those who are interested in skeletal neoplasms and pseudoneoplastic conditions.

The authors are pathologists with expertise in orthopaedic and molecular pathology. Accordingly, the pathology of bone tumors and tumorlike conditions, presented in twenty-four logical chapters, forms the core of the text. The first several chapters review general concepts of bone tumors in terms of epidemiology, molecular biology, radiography, and staging.
