I read "Resurfacing of the Patella in Total Knee Arthroplasty. A Prospective, Randomized, Double-Blind Study" (79-A: 11211131, Aug. 1997), by Barrack et al., with great interest. While I am in full agreement with the conclusion of this excellent study, I noted an incorrect statement in the Discussion section. Barrack et al. stated that, as far as they know, "the thirty-two patients who had a bilateral total knee arthroplasty with resurfacing of one patella and retention of the other ... represent the largest such group reported on to date."
