Obituary

FRANCESCA M. THOMPSON, M.D. 1945–1996

Francesca Morosani Thompson (Cesca to her friends) died of complications after a ten-year battle with multiple myeloma, on February 15, 1996. She was fifty-one years old.

FRANCESCA M. THOMPSON, M.D. 1945-1996

 
During her shortened life, her academic achievements were legendary. After graduating from Smith College in 1965 with a degree in social welfare, she became a social workers. She married James Thompson of Litchfield, Connecticut. While their two children were still very young, she completed a premedical program by attending evening classes. She entered Cornell University Medical College in 1973 and graduated with an A.O.A. degree.
