I read "Autogenous Bone Grafts from the Femoral Head for the Treatment of Acetabular Deficiency in Primary Total Hip Arthroplasty with Cement. Long-Term Results" (77-A: 1227-1233, Aug. 1995), by Rodriguez et al., with considerable interest. I also have had a number of patients who have had a good result after this procedure, but I have been concerned about whether the sockets might collapse catastrophically as reported by Mulroy and Harris3.
