Malignant giant-cell tumor of the distal end of the radius treated by a free vascularized fibular transplant
RW Pho
Five patients with a malignant giant-cell tumor involving the distal end of
the radius were treated successfully by wide resection and reconstruction
of the radius with a vascularized fibular transplant. This technique has
the great advantage of early bone union at the host-graft junction and
enables the patient to regain limb function early, with preservation of
near-normal appearance of the limb.
