Arthroplasty of both hips and both knees in rheumatoid arthritis
KA Johnson
Eleven patients with rheumatoid arthritis underwent total joint replacement
of both hips and both knees (four-joint arthroplasty). All patients had
increased function and decreased pain. Severe rheumatoid arthritis in both
hips and knees does not preclude a satisfactory result after replacement
arthroplasty.
