A Review of Twenty-three Operations on the Ulnar Nerve in Leprous Neuritis
D. D. PALANDE M.S.1
1 From the Sacred Heart Leprosy Hospital, Kumbakonam
Ulnar neurolysis and transposition operations were done on twenty-three patients with leprous neuritis. The pain was relieved in all cases and motor recovery of various degrees was evident. Follow-up of up to two years showed that most of the motor recovery occurred between six and twelve months after the operation. The extent of damage and recovery were related to the type and duration of neuritic involvement.
