A Genetic Survey of Idiopathic Scoliosis in Boston, Massachusetts

Families of 207 index patients, including first, second, and third degree relatives were surveyed for scoliosis, and the incidence was compared with that from a similar study in Edinburgh. The data suggest a multifactorial mode of inheritance.
