Calcifying Myxoma

A CASE REPORT

JAMES W. MILGRAM M.D.1 and RICHARD E. PREININGER M.D.1

1 From the Department of Pathology, The Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore

1. A large myxoma of the popliteal region has been reported.

2. Scattered areas of calcification occurred within this lesion.

3. It is suggested that the calcification was due to a biochemical change in the protein fibers rather than to degeneration.
