Management of the Young Child with Bilateral Anomalous and Functionless Lower Extremities

1. Three cases of severe bilateral lower extremity limb deficiency are presented and their management discussed.

2. A case of mature, untreated lumbosacral agenesis with spinal, pulmonary, and renal compromise is discussed.

3. The need for carrying out ablative surgery at an early age in the proper emotional climate is emphasized.

4. Spinal stability is essential for survival.
