A case has been presented in which a modified Bristow operation was used to correct the problem of recurrent anterior dislocation of the shoulder. Loosening and displacement of the bone screw caused a false aneurysm of the axillary artery with subsequent compression of the brachial plexus cords and paralysis of an upper extremity. If a bone screw is used in this region, its removal is recommended after it has served its purpose.
