HIROMU SHOJI M.D.1, TOMIHISA KOSHINO M.D.1, RALPH C. MARCOVE M.D.1, and T. CAMPBELL THOMPSON M.D.1

1 From Bone Service, Memorial Hospital for Cancer and Allied Diseases and The Hospital for Special Surgery, New York

The distal portion of the fibula was resected subperiosteally in two adolescent patients with large aneurysmal bone cysts extending close to the distal epiphyseal plate of the fibula. Follow-up studies, eight years after operation in one patient and two and one-half years in the other patient, showed satisfactory function and stability of the ankle.
