The Growth Plate and Its Affections

This discussion has presented a brief outline of the growth plate as an organ responsible for longitudinal growth of bone in which certain physiological functions can be recognized. An attempt has been made to correlate some of the known affections of the plate with alterations in physiological and biochemical processes, in an effort to present a more rational approach to growth disturbances and to provide a possible framework for future investigation.
