Repair of the Torn Achilles Tendon, Using the Plantaris Tendon as a Reinforcing Membrane

A method has been described for repairing a ruptured Achilles tendon and reinforcing it with the plantaris tendon stretched into a membrance. Follow-up studies on eleven of eighteen tendons so treated revealed excellent results.
