After a review of the existing literature on spondylolisthesis in the cervical spine, a case is described. Special attention is paid to the questions of instability of the cervical spine and of the necessity of surgical fusion. A so-called functional roentgenographic examination proved the cervical spine to be stable enough, and surgical fusion was not considered.
