Morquio-Brailsford Osteochondrodystrophy and Osteogenesis Imperfecta

REPORT OF A PATIENT WITH BOTH CONDITIONS

1 From the Shriners' Hospital, Portland, Oregon

A patient with both osteochondrodystrophy and osteogenesis imperfecta is presented. Biopsy material from the costochondral junction of a rib and of the proximal tibial epiphyseal plate demonstrated abnormal maturation of chondrocytes, a quantitative decrease in the number of chondrocytes, and inactivity of enchondral growth areas.
