A preliminary report of our experiences with autogenous rib osteoperiosteal grafts is presented. Based on the results of treatment in over fifty cases it is our opinion that rib osteoperiosteal autografts, due to their active osteogenic properties, small size, flexibility, case of procurement, and decreased donor-site morbidity, are advantageous in the treatment of certain fresh and ununited fractures when bone-grafting is indicated.
