Late Results in Vitallium-Mold Arthroplasty of the Hip
W. Alexander Law O.B.E., M.D., F.R.C.S.1
1 LONDON, ENGLAND
1. Vitallium-mold arthroplasty has proved itself a very satisfactory operation in restoring adequate hip-joint function for a period up to and over twelve years after operation.
2. The surgical technique must be exact and the rehabilitation graded to the individual patient, with careful supervision of weight-bearing, particularly in the early stages.
3. When complications arise, further reconstructive measures can be carried out along anatomical lines, with a wide choice of procedures. The incidence of such complications is low, as is the operative mortality.
