A New Bone Affection: Feathering
Harold M. Frost M.D.1
1 Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit
An affection of bone, termed feathering, is described. Feathered bone is incompletely mineralized and has distinctive morphological features as seen in stained, fresh, undecalcified sections. It is different from osteomalacic and osteoporotic bone and may involve more than half of the skeleton. It has not yet been possible to correlate it with age, sex, disease, or medication.
