The Use of Small Bone Screws in the Treatment of Metacarpal, Metatarsal, and Phalangeal Fractures

1. The use of small stainless-steel bone screws for maintenance of reduction of selected oblique and spiral fractures of the hand and foot has, in our experience, been justified by the results obtained.
2. When properly applied, the technique can lead to results superior to those of other methods of treatment.
3. There appear to be few-indications for the use of small plates.
