From a study of seventy patients who have been operated upon for injury to a meniscus, the authors conclude that careful supervision of daily active physiotherapy, which is started immediately after the operation and is carried out by the patient himself, is the best method of obtaining perfect joint function. The methods of obtaining quadriceps tone and a full range of joint motion are discussed.
