A STUDY OF THE END RESULTS OF SYNOVECTOMY OF THE KNEE

1. In well selected cases of chronic arthritis of the polyarticular type about sixty per cent. of the cases are benefited by synovectomy, while in the monarticular type about seventy-five per cent. of the cases are improved by the operation.
2. Traumatic arthritis has a high percentage of good results (ninety-five per cent.) after synovectomy.
3. Tuberculous arthritis of the knee does not obtain relief from synovectomy.
