THE SKATE-SPLINT-CAST COMBINATION

R. M. YERGASON M.D., F.A.C.S.

1. A method of handling comminuted fractures of both bones of the leg by using the skate, the open splint, and the circular plaster-of-Paris in combination is described.

2. When doing an open operation on this type of fracture, it is most convenient to have the amount of traction and the position of the foot entirely under control. This is accomplished by the method outlined.
