A CASE OF BILATERAL CONGENITAL FUSION OF THE CALCANEI AND CUBOIDS
GEORGE W. WAGONER M.D.1
1 The Orthopaedic Section, Graduate School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia.
1. A case is reported of bilateral fusion of the calcanei and cuboids occurring in a boy of nine.
2. Evidence of arthritic involvement of the tarsal articulations is lacking.
3. Data is induced to show that fusion between the two calcanei and cuboids resulted from the congenital absence of the calcaneocuboid articular cartilages.
