Cervical Spine Injury in a Six-Year-Old Boy1
A six-year-old boy was a restrained rear-seat passenger in an automobile involved in a high-speed motor-vehicle accident. He had no loss of consciousness, scalp lacerations, or bruising. The results of all neurological and musculoskeletal examinations were documented as normal. A lateral radiograph of the cervical spine (Fig. 1) and sagittal T2-weighted magnetic resonance imaging examinations (Fig. 2-A) were performed.
